Second, they need to rightly perceive the Communist Party of China, the grand nation, and the noble people, fostering love for the Party, heeding its guidance, following its lead, cherishing the homeland, contributing to its growth, valuing the people, and remaining faithful to them. Third, it's crucial to properly understand oneself, treasure the university experience, and courageously shoulder responsibilities. Fourth, they should correctly appreciate the value of higher education, take charge of their lives, apply themselves to learning, and willingly embrace the significant task of fostering the ecological civilization in this epoch.

Wang Hongyuan emphasized that the new students should strive for comprehensive development. First, they must firm up their ideals and convictions, consciously drawing inspiration from the Party's history of struggle and great achievements to boost their fighting spirit and clarify their direction, using the Party's glorious traditions and fine conduct to strengthen their beliefs and draw strength, continuously solidifying their "Four Confidences."
