On BFU's campus, a dedicated group donning "blue vests" is actively engaged in a myriad of volunteer activities. They embody the essence of volunteerism—dedication, compassion, teamwork, and personal growth—bringing these values to life. Like a refreshing breeze and warming sunshine, their seemingly small acts of kindness collectively form a formidable force for change. These are the young volunteers of Beijing Forestry University.

To commemorate International Volunteer Day on December 5th, Beijing Forestry University orchestrated a series of captivating events.

A volunteer fair lit up the winter, featuring 14 service groups from across campus. The event showcased a wide range of initiatives, from museum tours and community demonstrations of life-saving emergency skills to campus outreach programs and ecological civilization advocacy. The vibrant activities drew the attention of the university community, inspiring many to get involved and embody the spirit of "taking the lead in volunteer service."

We hosted a volunteer symposium that brought together 26 outstanding service groups from 22 universities, including Peking University, Beijing Normal University, and China Agricultural University. Participants exchanged ideas on managing volunteer services and shared successful activity models, and they also engaged in deep discussions on topics such as "developing volunteer projects with professional or academic distinctiveness".

To celebrate and encourage volunteer excellence, we also held a recognition event to spotlight role models, and ten "Top Volunteers of 2024", five "Outstanding Volunteer Groups" and five "Outstanding Volunteer Projects" were honored.

This year's Lei Feng-themed education and practice series has sparked 376 dynamic and impactful volunteer activities, engaging 10,641 participants who collectively contributed 118,963.5 service hours. Join us in celebrating the incredible spirit and dedication of BFU volunteers!
