From December 4th to 5th, the first Youth Academic Forum of School of Grassland Science with the theme of “Green Development of Grassland industry and carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals” was held. The forum was sponsored by School of Grassland Science, and co-organized by Lawn Innovation Alliance of National Forestry and Grassland Administration and National Grassland Industry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance.
Ren Jizhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and honorary Dean of School of Grassland Science, pointed out in his speech that it is of great significance for BFU to build and develop School of Grassland Science under the situation of integration of forest and grassland, which is an innovative measure and one of the important means of ecological development. “Grass is the background of a green society and green earth,” He said, and he hoped that young students will adhere to the principle of “determined to study in grassland science and engage in grassland industry”, shouldering responsibility and making achievements one after another in the main battlefield of ecological civilization.
The academic forum was divided into three parts, including “invited report”, “symposium” and “student academic report competition”. A total of 5 experts, 14 youth teachers and 20 students made reports online and offline with cumulative 1000+ online audiences, and the first, second and third prizes and excellence awards of the student academic report competition were awarded at the forum.
During the two-day forum, invited experts, youth teachers, graduate students and undergraduate gave academic reports with informative and excellent content, discussing how to make proper use of grassland resources, promote the green development of grassland industry and increase carbon sinks function of grass so as to boost the development of ecological civilization and the building of a beautiful China in terms of molecular biology technology, soil microbes, grassland resources, the grassland ecological conservation from micro to macro.
