International college of BFU held the Seminar on “China：Prescription for Poverty” lately to provide the students with the opportunity of understanding China’s road to comparatively well-off society.
China, home to nearly one-fifth of the world's population, has completely eliminated absolute poverty and achieved the poverty reduction target set in the “UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” 10 years ahead of schedule, attracting wide attention and receiving praise from the international community. Given the fact that the global spread of COVID-19 has made it more difficult to achieve the goal of poverty alleviation and make a visit to China, visiting China has become the wish of many international students. Therefore, International College held this lecture to enable international students to have a deeper understanding of China’s poverty alleviation experience and arouse the enthusiasm of international students at home and abroad to explore China.
The speaker of the lecture, the head of international College, introduced the fundamental realities of China through historical tracing, explained China’s goals, achievements, measures and experiences of poverty alleviation in a systematic way, and took the fixed-point poverty alleviation of Horqin Right Wing Front Banner as a typical case. The speaker introduced China’s remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation with a large number of data reference objectively and comprehensively in an international view, helping international students at home and abroad to have a deeper understanding of China’s poverty alleviation work.
The lecture was highly admitted by international students, with more than 80% participants saying that they would share China’s experience of poverty alleviation with their relatives and friends through social media and other ways.
