On October 23, 2021 Autumn Sports Meeting of Beijing Forestry University(BFU) kicked off, all referees, coaches and athletes were present at the ceremony.
Accompanied by the impassioned “March of the Athletes”, the athlete representatives from all colleges who were dressed in uniform entered with sonorous and powerful steps which showed the youthful vigor of the students.
The sports meeting, themed by “Sunshine Sports, Healthy BFU”, consisted of three parts of competition events including 22 track and field events, campus healthy student individual competition and student group events. 17 schools and departments participated in the competition.
Wang Hongyuan, Chairman of University Council, BFU, awarded prizes to the students who were honored with the “2020-2021 Star of Long-distance Running”, and fired the starting gun for the men's student group 100-meter race. He hoped that all students would participate in sports activities such as “Campus Sunshine Running” , carrying forward the Olympic spirit and showing the style of BFU students in the competition.
Xie Xuewen, Vice-Chairman of University Council, pointed out in his opening speech that strengthening physical education and improving the physical fitness of teachers and students are significant parts of education. Autumn Sports Meeting is a critical stage for teachers and students to carry forward the sportsmanship and an effective way for the university to promote extensive sports and fitness. He hoped that the students could continue to strengthen physical exercise to build up the body and relax the mind, bravely undertaking the mission to strengthen the country through sports.
A number of excellent students stood out in the “Campus Sunshine Running” activity and they have been awarded for their extraordinary performance.
Referee Liu Liwei took the oath on behalf of all the judges, and Tong Fugeng spoke on behalf of the athletes.
