The Road to Success in Countering the Negative Impacts of the COVID-19: Approaches and Practices of Furongshu BBQ Bar presented by BFU was successfully listed among the 11th “Top 100 National Excellent Management Cases” (2020) released a few days ago. The selection of the List is sponsored by the National Business Administration Graduate Education Steering Committee and undertaken by China Management Case Sharing Center. Professor Li Xiaoyong from the Department of Business and Economics is the leading author, with Luo Yuanyuan, Li Xueyin, Zhang Yan, Wu Jialong and Gangju Zhang being the co-authors. The School of Economics and Management won the best Organization Award of the 11th National Hundred Excellent Management Cases for 2020. On October 18, the 2020 Joint Meeting of Deans of Management Schools of National MBA training schools was held in Beijing to honor the winners of the 11th "Top 100 National Excellent Management Cases”.
Faced with the impact of the sudden epidemic crisis on the catering industry, the case selects typical small and medium-sized catering enterprises to conduct research to understand the case company’s history of fighting the epidemic. After initial preparation, preliminary plan, field visit, field investigation, text writing, repeated revision, multiple discussions, enterprise authorization and etc., the work finally came into being.
The selection was launched in March 2020, and a total of 1030 qualified cases were received from 142 universities nationwide. After two rounds of evaluation, namely anonymous letter review by evaluation experts and expert committee meeting review, 37 cases were selected into the "Top 100 National Excellent Management Cases (Micro-cases)". This is the second time for BFU to win such honor. For the first time, Professor Li Xiaoyong’s Love Sorting : How to Realize Innovation in the Whole Industry Chain Business Model for Garbage Sorting in the "Internet +" Era was selected as one of the "Top 100 National Excellent Management Cases" for 2019.
It is understood that case development is an important way to improve the quality of talent training as well as a bridge for the integration of industry and education, which has been put on increasingly higher agendas of colleges and universities. Since 2010, the National MBA Education Steering Committee has organized the selection of “Top 100National Excellent Management Cases”, which has been successfully held for 11 sessions, making it the highest award of Chinese management cases, and the selected excellent cases will be included in the case database of China Management Case Sharing Center and recommended to Richard Ivey School of Business in University of Western Ontario for global English distribution. Since the national MBA Education Steering Committee launched the "Top 100 national excellent management cases" selection, every year, the School of Economics and Management has actively organized college teachers to participate in the selection, encouraging them to continuously deepen cooperation with enterprises, develop innovative and high-quality cases, faithfully record the growth and reform process of Chinese enterprises, summarize the management rules, enrich classroom teaching, and contribute their academic wisdom.
