“ Egg Packaging Design for t he Zhan y i Farm of Horqin Right Front Banner in Inner Mongolia ”, a project completed by BFU team under its Poverty Alleviation through S&T initiative, was recently awarded gold medal in the first “Beautiful Countryside” Art Competition. the poverty elimination project of our university, was awarded the gold medal.
Co-organized by the Executive Committee of the Beautiful Countryside International Video Festival, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, and the Organizing Committee of the “Beautiful Countryside” Chinese College Student Art Design Competition, 4 gold awards, 8 silver awards and 13 bronze awards were selected from the 993 valid entries under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The award-winning design presented by BFU was directed by Professor Wang Jin and created by Liu Xinpei and Wang Dandan from the School of Art. It is an achievement made by BFU students in the University’s special program for poverty alleviation through S&T launched in 2020.
As a national key rural construction base, Zhanyi Farm is the model of modern creative rural farm with natural environment and green as well as healthy agricultural products. With its defining realistic touch, the design team shows the consumers an interesting picture of the countryside with exquisite illustrations, fine graphics and fresh colors, which fully expresses the beauty of the countryside and the simplicity of the villagers, attracting people’s attentions to idyllic rural scenes. Meanwhile, it highlights the brand, which is conducive to the sales and promotion of the products. This design work has been successfully put into production and commercial sales, which fully reflects the tenet of “integrating theory with practice, and serving the public with design” held by the school of Art and Design of our university.
It is learned that BFU has made great efforts to give full play to the scientific and technological talents and industrial characteristics of green institutions of higher education in the targeted poverty alleviation work, combined with the local characteristics, to help the local areas to strengthen their weak points, from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization, and carried out a series of effective work. The School of Art and Design strives to give full play to its professional advantages and provide marketing publicity for local agricultural, livestock, vegetable and fruit products with the strength of design, so as to assist the school in targeted poverty alleviation.
