On the afternoon of April 16th, students of International College of BFU were invited to Erlizhuang civilization practice Institute to participate in the flower transplanting activity. This activity is dedicated to popularizing the knowledge of garbage classification and environmental protection to the public and improving the happiness of Chinese and foreign residents.

During the activity, the organizer introduced the basic knowledge of garbage classification, then, the community volunteers told us how to distinguish four kinds of garbage with humorous language. The students were very interested and went to the garbage classification cultural wall to take photos.

Then, the volunteers took the students to the small garden where earthworms were put in artificially to introduce how to compost kitchen waste for flower planting.

In the end, the international students picked flowers and started flower transplanting. With the help of the volunteers, the flowers were planted in a small garden where they were composted with earthworms and kitchen waste. In less than half an hour, the bare little garden has been full of beautiful roses, and everyone's face are filled with happiness.

At the end of the event, the international students expressed their feelings deeply, Majda from Morocco said:It’s such a wonderful day we spent at the sunshine garden planting activity, I was amazed to see their devotion and creativity, bravo for all their efforts; I was honored to participate in planting flowers in their garden, this opportunity is such a gorgeous memory! thank you for your hospitality and kindness, thank you for keeping our environment healthy！

When we arrived at the community, we were introduced to the waste classification which we practice at our university. After the introduction to the waste classification we got the opportunity to plant flowers and it was the most interesting part. I was amazed by the participation of the community members in the flower planting activity as well as waste classification. Everyone is responsible for saving our planet. Thank You BFU!!!
