    Forest Silviculture

    Forest Silviculture

    Introduction to the subject

Established in 1952, the discipline of forest cultivation is one of the earliest forestry disciplines established in China. It has long been a leading position in the same disciplines across the country. It is a national key discipline, the key construction discipline of the “211” project, and the superior discipline of the Ministry of Education. The innovation platform focuses on the direction of construction. In 1989, 2001 and 2006, it was rated as a national key discipline. In 1995, it became the main supporting subject of the postdoctoral station of Linxue. Since the establishment of the Forestation Branch of the China Forestry Society, it has been the subject of this discipline and is the arid and semi-arid region of the State Forestry Administration. The Key Laboratory of Forest Cultivation and Ecosystem Research and the Key Laboratory of Forest Cultivation and Protection, the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, are mainly based on disciplines. The discipline has strong teaching staff. There are 2 teachers in the middle school, 8 professors, 5 associate professors, 2 lecturers and 1 senior experimenter.

For a long time, the discipline has fostered national development strategies, site classification and appropriate tree adaptation theory, forest water requirement rules and regulation mechanisms, forest seedling cultivation theory and technology, mixed forest and tree species interaction mechanisms in dry fast and high yield forests. The theory and technology of forest cultivation in the mountainous areas, the cultivation of multi-functional ecological public welfare forests, and the physiology of forest cultivation have achieved remarkable results at home and abroad.
