Introduction to the subject

Established in 1958, the discipline of forest protection is the first in the country to recruit graduate students. In 1993, it obtained the first place of the national forest protection discipline master evaluation. The discipline has been in the leading position in the country for a long time. It is a national key discipline, a key discipline of the state forestry administration, a key construction subject of the "project 211", the education revitalization subject and 985 Project Innovation Platform. The discipline possesses Beijing Key Laboratory of Pest Control, The State Forestry Administration of the Key Laboratory of Forest Conservation (co - founded with the Chinese Academy of Forestry) and Forest Protection, the Key Laboratory jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Government. The discipline has strong teaching staff. There are now 19 professors, 7 professors, 5 associate professors and 7 lecturers.

For a long time, the discipline has distinctive features and advantages in the control theory and technology of wood-boring pests. It has obvious advantages in the development and application of pest attractants, and has made important breakthroughs in remote sensing technology monitoring of serious pests. Disciplinary scientific research targets forest invasive alien species, and has obvious advantages in pest risk assessment, invasive ecology, destruction of forest ecosystem structure and function by invasive pests, and ecological restoration techniques of invaded forest ecosystems.

Academic Achievements

Forest protection science ranked in the forefront in the subject type, level, the total amount of funds among forestry colleges, funding 50 million yuan. It is the only major completely host 973 sub-project, in the national forest protection major, and to host the key projects of the national natural science fund; obtain more than 10 invention patents, more than 10 utility model patents. The talent people cultivated by the discipline have published more than 300 papers, including 150 SCI and EI; Published monographs, 9 textbooks. Forest protection major is the first department of education innovation team of forestry university, the only dominant team of national forest protection system leads the unit. At present, the subject hosts up to 11 national natural science funds, and the majority of young teachers host national natural fund projects.
