Master of Forestry

Description

In the 1950s, the college began to recruit graduate students. In the 1960s, it began to enroll overseas undergraduate students. In the 1990s, it began to enroll graduate students. Since 1981, the backbone of forestry has become the first discipline in China to receive doctoral grants in this field. Trained the first doctor of forest science in China.

Master of Forestry was established in 2011, relying on the Forest Cultivation, Forestry Protection, Forest Management, Urban Forestry and Forestry Soil. Besides fully based on industry characteristics to play a professional advantage, and closely around the needs of the development of ecological civilization construction in our country, cultivating good command of modern forestry technology of high-level talents.

Forestry is the national key discipline, also the national “Double First-Class” initivaive Construction Discipline. In 2018, Foresrty was ranked first successively in all Ministry of Education Assessments.

Faculty and staff

There are 33 full professors, 33 associate professors and 27 assistant professors in the faculty. Also there are 21 research platforms, including 1 key laboratory of provincialand ministry construction, 1 national R&D center, 3 state forestryadministration key laboratoryies, 2 state forestry administration ecosystrm positioning observation and research stations, 2 state forestry administration engineering technology research centers, 2 Beijing key laboratories, 3 school-level research bases and 6 school-level research institutions.
