Richard A. Dixon教授是英国皇家学会院士（2018年当选），美国科学院院士（2007年当选），美国科学促进会会员（2003年当选），美国国家发明家学会会员（2014年当选），美国植物生物学学会主席（2018年当选），北德克萨斯大学生命科学系杰出教授和生命探索研究所副主任，哈格勒高级研究所，驻校杰出学者，科学学院客座教授，大学城德克萨斯A&M大学Timothy C. Hall-Heep杰出教师，曾担任杰出教授和Samuel Roberts Noble研究主席，高级副总裁兼植物生物学部门的创始主任，于1988年至2013年在位于俄克拉荷马州Ardmore的Samuel Roberts Noble基金会工作；2017年至今同时担任江南的注册网址林木分子设计育种高精尖创新中心的首席科学家。
Richard A. Dixon教授于1973年在牛津大学获得生物化学学士学位，1976年获得植物学博士学位。主要研究方向为植物天然产物途径的生物化学，分子生物学和代谢工程及其对农业和人类健康的影响，以及木质纤维素生物质工程用于改善饲料和生物能源原料。
Richard A. Dixon教授在国际顶级期刊上发表了470多篇相关论文和著作，被引用超过67000次，被科学信息研究所评为在国际动物和植物领域被引用次数最多的10名科学家之一。
Prof. Richard A. Dixon, FRS, is a Fellow of the Royal Society (elected in 2018), Member of the US National Academy of Sciences (Plant and Soil Sciences Section, elected in 2007), Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (elected in 2003), Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (elected in 2014), and Fellow of the American Society of Plant Biologists (elected in 2018) Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and Associate Director of the Bio-Discovery Institute at the University of North Texas, Denton; and Faculty Fellow of the Hagler Institute of Advanced Study, Eminent Scholar in Residence, Visiting Professor in the College of Science, and Timothy C. Hall-Heep Distinguished Faculty Chair at Texas A and M University, College Station. Prof. Richard A. Dixon was previously Distinguished Professor and Samuel Roberts Noble Research Chair, Senior Vice President and Founding Director of the Plant Biology Division at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he worked from 1988-2013. He also serves as a Chief Scientist in the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Tree Breeding by Molecular Design of Beijing Forestry University from 2017.
Prof. Richard A. Dixon got his Bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry in 1973 and Ph.D. in botany in 1976, from the University of Oxford. His research interests focus on the biochemistry, molecular biology and metabolic engineering of plant natural product pathways and their implications for agriculture and human health, and the engineering of lignocellulosic biomass for the improvement of forage and bioenergy feedstocks.
Prof. Richard A. Dixon has published over 470 papers and chapters on international journals, which have been cited over 67,000 times, and has been named by the Institute for Scientific Information as one of the 10 most cited authors in the plant and animal sciences.
