Focusing on the national strategy in the new era and the needs of major ecological engineering construction, the National Engineering Research Center of Tree breeding and Ecological restoration aims at coping with global climate change and promoting the development of ecosystem restoration, global biodiversity conservation, rural revitalization, carbon neutrality and other frontier domains. The center adjusts the research fields into three directions: construction of forest tree breeding technology innovation and improved variety selection, efficient certified varieties breeding and intelligent production, forest resources efficient cultivation and ecological restoration, to further improve the certified varieties industry independent innovation and strategic service capabilities in accordance with the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", which is of great significance to build a national ecological security barrier for a beautiful China and a community of life on earth.
