Respecting, Accommodating and Protecting Nature

保护生态环境、建设生态文明，既是关系民生的重大社会问题，更是关系中国共产党使命宗旨的重大政治问题。中共十八大提出树立尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然的生态文明理念。

Protecting the eco-environment and building an  eco-civilization is a major social issue concerning people's  wellbeing. It is also a major political issue related to the mission and purpose of the CPC. At its 18th National  Congress, the CPC called on the people to respect,  accommodate and protect nature.

尊重自然，是人与自然相处时应秉持的科学态度，即人对自然应怀有敬畏之心、感恩之心，尊重自然界的存在、再生和循环能力，而绝不能凌驾其上。顺应自然，是人与自然相处时应遵循的基本原则，即人要顺应自然的客观规律，按照客观规律推动经济社会发展。保护自然，是人与自然相处时应承担的重要责任，即人向自然界索取生存发展之需时，应主动呵护自然、回报自然，保护生态系统。

Respecting nature is a due attitude to adopt. Humanity must revere nature and be grateful to nature, respect nature and its revival and circulation capacity, instead of attempting to dominate nature.

Accommodating nature is a basic principle to observe. Humanity must follow the ways of nature and the objective laws governing economic and social development.

Protecting nature is a responsibility to take. When taking from nature what we need for survival, we should cherish nature and repay nature, and protect the ecosystems.
